Canalhouse wedding photography: Heather & Jack

It was great to be back in the centre of Nottingham for some Canalhouse wedding photography. Heather and Jack met in Nottingham at the Pelican Club in the Lacemarket for their first date. And four years later were married just a stone’s throw away at St Mary’s Church. It was such a lovely wedding and the celebrations afterwards at The Canalhouse were so much fun.

The Pelican Club

The Pelican club is a great little cocktail bar tucked away in the Lacemarket area of Nottingham. It frequently hosts jazz evenings and serves up a fabulous Espresso martini. Heather and Jack decided to return after their St Mary’s church wedding ceremony for a few little photos where they spent their first date. It was an utter delight to photograph them here. And felt very special indeed.

The Canalhouse is situated right in the centre of Nottingham resting on the bank of the canal and it is a great pub. The upstairs function room is a perfect spot for wedding celebrations and the canal makes a good backdrop for photos too. Heather and Jack had a Ceilidh in the evening, which was lots of fun to photograph. What a wonderful wedding. Here are a few more of my photos from their big day.

City Centre Weddings – Canalhouse wedding photography

Living in the vibrant city of Nottingham, and exploring its nooks and crannies as a student over 20 years ago, revisiting venues in central Nottingham is always such a delight. There are some wonderful city centre venues and the Canalhouse is one of them. Getting married in the city gives great opportunities for photos in some of the pretty back streets of Nottingham, such as The Lacemarket. There are plenty of hotels for guests too.
