10 from Jordan and Kevin’s wedding: Wedding Photography at The Cottage Hotel Ruddington

It has been a few years since I have been doing wedding photography at The Cottage Hotel. It was great to be back. Jordan and Kevin had a gorgeous intimate ceremony and lovely reception at the hotel amongst their closest family and friends and made me feel very welcome as their wedding photographer. Their love and affection for each other was very evident for all to see and they really were so much fun to photograph.

A first meet

Jordan and Kevin decided they wanted to meet each other without seeing each other so they could hold hands and reassure each other with a few words privately before the ceremony took place. This was a first for me, and it was so much fun to organise and very emotional to photograph. Kevin stood against the wall, whilst Jordan walked towards him. We carefully choreographed it before hand with the help from the youngest bridesmaid standing in for Kevin, to make sure neither bride or groom would see each other. It worked perfectly, and it really was very emotional. I believe Kevin’s first words to Jordan during the meet were “I fed the cat” This made me giggle.

Family and Friends

I always feel so lucky to get to meet my couples nearest and dearest and learn more about the couple through their closest friends as well as having a good old natter with the guests. It really is one of my favourite things about my job. Meeting new people and getting to chat to them all on such a happy occasion. I got to sit down with their guests for the delicious wedding breakfast and chatted with some of Jordan and Kevin’s neighbours from their village. It was so lovely feel so welcome and I really enjoyed having a natter over roast beef.
