Wedding at Papplewick Pumping Station (a slideshow)
A few photos from a recent wedding at Papplewick Pumping Station. It is such an unusual venue for a wedding and I absolutely loved taking pictures there. Whats more, the bride and groom are very good friends of mine, which just made the whole experience that much more special.
Maxine got ready at East Bridgford Hill, another fantastic wedding venue. She looked absolutely stunning. Papplewick Pumping station was the perfect venue for this autumnal October wedding. I met Maxine at East Bridgford Hill along with her bridesmaid and best man, as they all got ready and had some champagne before heading out to Papplewick. Maxine’s best man Richard (who was also giving her away) was a great model for me! We had a mini Italian Vogue style photo shoot at East Bridgford Hill and he warmed up my camera nicely for Maxine. 😉
The amazing outfit
I had already seen the dress before the wedding so I knew it was amazing. But teamed with her beautiful bouquet (made by her friend Lyndsey) and hair and makeup by the talented Rachel Liney, she just looked incredible. The Catherine Deane gown was a lucky second-hand find online. I absolutely adore its simple elegance and the buttons all the way down the front. It suited Maxine’s figure beautifully. Teamed with a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choos, she was the picture of elegance and sophistication. Maxine wore a lovely hair piece from Arianna Tiaras.
Papplewick Pumping Station
At the Pumping Station, David and all the guests were squeezed into the upstairs space waiting for Maxine to arrive. Maxine walked in to La Vie En Rose, played beautifully on the acoustic guitar by her friend Nick Jonah Davis. It was such a touching moment, as she made her way up the wrought iron staircase to meet David. It really was quite a squeeze upstairs at the Pumping House, but it was INCREDIBLE! The tight squeeze made the ceremony more intimate and relaxed. The pair were literally enclosed on all sides by their closest family and friends, and had their 4 kids by their sides. It was very special indeed. One of my favourite photos is of a big bear hug squeeze the two give each other straight after the ceremony, with their kids looking on. Such a lovely moment.
Oxton Village Hall
After lots of photos at The Pumping House, we all made our way to Oxton Village Hall, where The Orange Tree had decorated the place beautifully in autumnal flowers and vintage pieces of furniture. Plus a gorgeous cake laden with figs and lavender. So much loveliness to photograph.
I liked the layout with the long tables, which were moved later to make way for dancing to the amazing Sheelanagig and their “Balkan flavoured chaos” It was something else. So much fun dancing with Maxine and photographing this special day for her and David. I loved every minute. I hope my photos do it some kind of justice!
