Wedding at Southdowns Manor
Charlene and Lee had their wedding at Southdowns Manor in June. The day was lots of fun and I really enjoyed it. I got to Southdowns Manor nice and early to take pictures of the girls getting ready. It was a busy morning, with a buzz of activity, makeup, hair, bucks fizz, bridesmaids being sewn into dresses. Thanks to Lotty (the wedding co-ordinator) for stepping in with a needle and thread. What else is a girl to do when the zipper breaks?! But they all made it downstairs (just about!) to meet Lee, who was patiently waiting for his bride.
It was worth the wait. Charlene looked absolutely gorgeous. She was a vision and looked a little like Audrey Hepburn in her glamorous wedding gown. Charlene and Lee’s boy Joshua was the ring bearer. He was brilliant and I so enjoyed taking pictures of him. There were lots of little personal touches that were very heart warming and emotional.
The couple let off balloons for their baby daughter Hope who they had to say goodbye to far too early.
There were also memories of Lee’s dad throughout the day, with an engraved hip flask presented to Lee in the morning, dedicated to his memory. Weddings are all about family and these touches were so beautiful. It was hard not to shed a tear. But Charlene and Lee’s many friends and family made the day a very happy occasion and a fun day was had by all. I hope my photos do it justice. Thanks to Eliza for second shooting.
You can also take a look at Charlene and Lee’s mini video fusion film, which is at the end of this post.
