Sam and Jake got married at the Tournerbury Woods estate on Hayling Island in Portsmouth. I booked the wedding through my brother Adam, who works with Sam, and I will be eternally grateful for the recommendation as I absolutely loved photographing them. You can probably tell, as my website and Facebook page are covered in pictures of these two. Their wedding was just a LOT of fun to photograph! So I decided that booking Sam and Jake’s wedding would be a good opportunity for me to catch up with my family down south, as my parents and sisters are in Southampton and my brother lives in Portsmouth. However, after texting them the week before, I find out that NONE of them are around! Haha. So, I drive 4 hours to stay in my brother’s house on my own in Portsmouth. It was actually very lovely and I caught up a bit with Breaking Bad on his Netflix (thanks Adz!) Anyway, the long drive was totally worth it, as Sam and Jake’s wedding was just gorgeous! They had a marquee reception on the grounds of Tournebury estate, and an outdoor ceremony conducted by Knight Ceremonies. It was a lovely personalised ceremony, and the weather couldn’t have been nicer for it! Sam looked stunning and I loved Jake’s style as well, with his very dapper chequered suit. They looked amazing together. I must add here as a little side note to any brides and grooms concerned about their height difference for photos, just take a look at these two for inspiration. Jake must have been a good foot taller than Sam, even with her 4 inch heels on! But their couple shots are just lovely. Some of my faves! Another favourite aspect of their wedding by far (apart from the superb food by Fat Hog and Big Pan Catering… YUM!!) was the first dance! OMG, they totally ROCKED it!! I am a bit of a swing dancer myself, and so I know how difficult charleston and Lindy Hop are to learn, and these two just totally nailed their routine to Paulo Nutini’s Pencil full of Lead. It was so good, their guests were screaming and whooping for ages after they finished, with a deserved high five to each other. Sam and Jake, I loved your wedding, you are such a fun loving couple, with understandably a lot of great friends, who all loved your wedding as much as I did. What a great day. Can we do it all again please?! x Thanks to my second shooter Jessica. Gorgeous flowers by Wild and Green. Amazing tents by Baylilly Bell Tents.
